Bob Weir Appears with Dark Star Orchestra

Grateful Dead guitarist and vocalist and RatDog band leader, Bob Weir, showed up ready to play with Dark Star Orchestra at the Fillmore Thursday. After watching the first set from the balcony, Bob joined in on the second set of the original setlist with Weir-likeness Rob Eaton taking a deserved break. As the crowd called for an encore, Rob joined Bob onstage for a doppelganger version of “The Mighty Quinn” and “Around and Around.” Additional Grateful Dead energy continued when DSO lead guitarist John Kadlecik had the rare honor of playing Jerry Garcia’s guitar “Wolf” at Thursday’s show.

DSO continues Friday night with their 1300th show, as both Friday and Saturday’s shows at San Francisco’s Fillmore are sold out. DSO’s tour continues to Santa Cruz, winds up to Seattle, Eugene, Portland & Tahoe before ending in the Bay Area’s Mystic Theatre in Petaluma October 19.
