In their search to keep Jam Cruise loaded with hot new musical acts, Jam Cruise is teaming up with Sonicbids again, inviting up-and-coming artists to submit their music in the Sonicbids / Jam Cruise band contest. Six cabin slots have been reserved for Sonicbids artists, meaning the winners can be a full band up to 6 members or a band of 4 and a duo, or any other combination of six. Bands can enter now through November 7, 2006 at www.sonicbids.com/jamcruise.
Jam Cruise judges will review applicants and narrow the pool down to a small number of finalists. The final voting will be open to the Jam Cruise passengers, on a date to be determined. Stay tuned for more details.
The lucky Sonicbids winners will join others on the Jam Cruise 5 lineup: The Derek Trucks Band, Umphrey's McGee, The Greyboy Allstars, Galactic, Burning Spear, Garage a Benevento, Drive-By Truckers, Zero, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Railroad Earth, Deep Banana Blackout, Perpetual Groove, Tea Leaf Green, Los Amigos Invisibles, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, ALO, Hot Buttered Rum, New Mastersounds, Yonrico Scott Band, Scrapomatic, Bassnectar, DJ Le Spam and DJ Afro.
For its fifth adventure, Jam Cruise has outdone itself with a superior lineup and luxurious ship, the MSC Opera. The boat will leave port from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 2, 2007, floating for five days and five nights with stops in the Turks and Caicos Islands and a special private island, Cayo Levantado in the Dominican Republic.
Since its first journey in 2003, Jam Cruise has revolutionized the music festival experience by blending the community, spontaneity and good times of a music festival with the convenience, luxury, and adventure of cruise travel. The MSC Opera first sailed in 2004 and features swimming pool and whirlpool, a gym and sauna, mini-golf course, internet café, casino and much more. The ship also boasts accommodations for more than 2000 passengers, offering fewer suites but more balconies and ocean views than last year.
