Safety In Numbers, which just hit stores in April, is the third studio album by the musically muscular and relentlessly inventive Umphrey’s McGee. The highly anticipated album brought Umphrey’s McGee to #186 in Billboard’s Top 200, and the band debuted #11 on the coveted Heatseekers Chart.
Look for Umphrey’s McGee on tour now, hitting San Francisco, New York, and everywhere in between. The band performed on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 18, 2006. Sitting in with them for their late night television debut was veteran rocker Huey Lewis, who also appears on Safety in Numbers.

It’s been a quick rise for Chicago’s Umphrey’s McGee. Their virtuoso playing and edgy songcraft recently compelled Rolling Stone to choose Umphrey’s “a band to watch” in their annual Hot Issue. Relix magazine put them on the cover of their December 2004 issue and the prestigious Chicago Music Awards bestowed upon Umphrey’s McGee the coveted Best Rock Entertainer of the Year award. Booked coast to coast by the Monterey Peninsula Booking Agency, the band recently sold out two nights at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, two nights at Irving Plaza, San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium, the list goes on.
